About Us:

Dr. Bhupendra Gandhi is a highly respected Nephrologist in Mumbai. He graduated from Grant Medical College, JJ Group of Hospitals, University of Mumbai, in 1966. He underwent advanced training in Internal Medicine with American Board at the Mount Carmen Mercy Hospital and Medical Centre, University of Michigan, USA, from 1968 to 1971. As a Nephrology fellow at the same institution, he earned his subspecialty certification from the American Board of Nephrology in 1974.

Dr. Gandhi has extensive international experience, having served at several renounced institutes such as Harper Hospital Detroit, USA; Pontiac Hospital and Mount Carmen Mercy Hospital and Medical Centre Michigan, USA.

He is a pioneer in Indian nephrology, having performed the nation’s first ABO-Incompatible kidney transplantation, an achievement that has since paved the way for nearly 100 such successful transplantations in India.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Gandhi has been honoured with numerous accolades, including the Dr. M D Motashaw Memorial Oration, R T Jain Oration, Guru Dronacharya Awards and a Lifetime achievement Awards.

Dr. Gandhi has held several prestigious roles, including President of the Mumbai Nephrology group, Managing Trustee of the Amar Gandhi Foundation and Chairman of Hester Pharmaceuticals. He has authored several articles and written chapters on blood diseases too.

He is a life member of organisations such as American College of Physicians, Indian Medical Association, Indian Society of Organ Transplantation and the Indian Society of Nephrologist.
