Periodontics is dedicated to maintaining the health of your gums and jawbone structures that support your teeth. A periodontist treats gum-related issues.

Dental Hygiene

We aim to eliminate any plaque build-up that can lead to future dental problems. Our hygienists use advanced ultrasonic tools to remove plaque and tartar.

Symptoms of periodontal disease include:

  • Red or irritated gums
  • Bleeding or swollen gums
  • Chronic bad breath
  • Extreme tooth sensitivity
  • Tartar buildup

Endodontics focuses on diagnosing, preventing, and treating diseases and injuries impacting the dental pulp and related peri-radicular areas. The practice includes either preserving some or all of the dental pulp in healthy conditions, or removing it entirely in cases of irreversible damage. This applies to teeth with pulp tissues having irreversible inflammation and infection.

Conditions we treat:

  • Deep decay
  • Severe pain
  • Abscess

Orthodontics is a field of dentistry dedicated to diagnosing and correcting issues with “bad bites” (malocclusion). Typical orthodontic treatments include braces, clear aligners, and retainers. The alignment of your teeth plays a crucial role in maintaining your overall oral health.

Types of orthodontic problems include:

  • Overbite, when your upper teeth extend beyond your lower teeth
  • Underbite, when your lower teeth extend further than your upper teeth
  • Teeth that overlap completely
  • Crowding in teeth
  • Misaligned or crooked teeth
  • Teeth that are rotated
  • Malocclusion

Our Services

The common dental procedures done at our hospital along with their benefits:

  • Dental cleaning (prophylaxis): Involves removing plaque and tartar buildup and help prevent cavities, gum disease, along with overall oral health support.
  • Composite bonding/ Restorations: Excavation of caries and filling cavities to restore the tooth's function and structure, preventing further decay
  • Root canal/ Re-root canal treatment: Saves an infected or damaged tooth from extraction, alleviates pain, and restores functionality
  • Prosthesis: Covers and protects a weak, damaged, or root canal treated tooth. It restores the shape, size, and strength, and improves the appearance of the tooth.
  • Crowns and bridges: Replaces missing teeth, restores ability to chew and speak properly, prevents adjacent teeth from shifting and improves facial structure
  • Dental implants: Provides a permanent solution for replacing missing teeth, restores biting and chewing function, prevents bone loss in the jaw, and improves facial appearance. Dental implants are also used to restore teeth after bony reconstruction in oral cancer.
  • Orthodontic treatment (braces or aligners): Corrects teeth alignment and bite issues, improves oral hygiene by making teeth easier to clean, enhances appearance, and can prevent future dental problems.
  • Dental extractions: Removes severely damaged or infected teeth, prevents the spread of infection, and alleviates pain.
  • Teeth whitening:  Enhances the appearance of teeth by lightening discolouration and stains, boosting self-confidence
  • Paediatric dentistry: Full mouth rehabilitation under conscious sedation and general anaesthesia is available for uncooperative child patients, mentally challenged children, and children with various disorders.
  • Preventive dentistry: Sealants protect the chewing surfaces of molars and premolars from decay by sealing off deep grooves where bacteria and food particles can accumulate. Fluoride application helps prevent decay.

  • Detection of cavities between teeth or under existing fillings, erosion in the bone, periodontal disease, and abnormalities in tooth roots.
  • Early detection of dental problems through X-rays allows for timely intervention, preventing more extensive and costly treatments later.
  • To monitor the development of teeth and jaws in children and adolescents, aiding in orthodontic treatment planning.
  • Track changes in oral health over time, helping dentists tailor treatment plans according to the patient's needs.

Our technology

At Reliance Foundation Hospital, we employ highly specific diagnostic tools to predict and enhance treatment outcomes. With cutting-edge technology, such as advanced imaging systems and precision diagnostics, we ensure accurate detection, early intervention, and comprehensive care for maintaining optimal oral health.

Preparing for Your Visit

Overall, dental X-rays are essential for comprehensive dental care, enabling accurate diagnoses and effective treatments, while ensuring patient safety and well-being. Regular dental check-ups, including X-rays, are crucial in maintaining optimal oral health. X-rays help dentists plan treatments such as root canals, dental implants, and orthodontic procedures by providing detailed information about teeth and jaw structure.  Modern dental X-ray equipment emits very low levels of radiation and provide instant images for immediate analysis.

CBCT is a highly advanced 3D imaging technique used for a more comprehensive evaluation of dental conditions. CBCT uses a rotating X-ray machine that captures comprehensive 3D images of dental structures, bones, soft tissues, and nerve pathways in a single scan. It provides detailed images of bone structures, allowing dentists to differentiate between solid and fluid-filled lesions or cavities. A negative grayscale value in a CBCT image indicates the presence of a semi-solid or fluid-filled space, which typically points to an infection or cyst. CBCT is invaluable for planning complex procedures such as dental implants, root canals, and the extraction of impacted teeth. The technology offers significantly more detail than conventional X-rays while using a lower radiation dose than traditional CT scans.

An OPG, or orthopantomogram, is a panoramic dental X-ray that captures images of the upper and lower jaw. Also known as Orthopantomography or Panorex, it presents a flattened two-dimensional view that spans from ear to ear. This type of X-ray allows for multiple angles to be combined into a single composite image, displaying both the maxilla (upper jaw) and mandible (lower jaw). Your dentist will likely suggest an OPG during your dental care.

An OPG also reveals the number, position, and growth of all the teeth, including those that have yet to erupt through the gums. Unlike the small close-up X-rays taken for individual teeth, OPGs provide a wider view but with less fine detail. This broader perspective is particularly useful for examining hard-to-see areas, such as wisdom teeth, as well as for monitoring the development of a child’s jaw and teeth, assisting in orthodontic treatment planning. Additionally, OPGs are frequently used to assess the TMJ (temporomandibular joint), sometimes referred to as the cranio-mandibular articulation (CMA), especially for individuals who grind teeth.

The 3Shape TRIOS dental intraoral scanner is a handheld 3D scanning device that is transforming digital impression techniques in dentistry. These innovative scanners enable dentists to display a patient’s three-dimensional dental impression on a screen almost immediately after the scanning process is completed. By examining a detailed digital impression closely, patients can gain a clearer understanding of their oral health. The scanner also produces impressions in full colour, which enhances communication between dentists and patients, and leading to improved treatment outcomes.

Restorations made with the 3Shape TRIOS dental intraoral scanners are not require lesser time, but also provide an accurate fit requiring fewer adjustments. These scanners capture the shapes of teeth with digital precision, while incorporating of high-definition pictures in the 3D model to emphasise details. Furthermore, the accuracy of the 3Shape TRIOS scanners minimises the need for remake of restorations, alleviating concerns for patients about returning to the dentist for corrections.
