Fasting and Medication We recommend that you fast for 12 hours before your health check-up appointment.You may drink water but not tea/coffee or any other liquids.Completely avoid consuming alcohol at least 12 hours before the health check-up.If you are on thyroid medication, you may take your morning dose. For blood pressure (BP) medication, certain types of pills (e.g., β-blockers) must be avoided on the day of the check-up. Please confirm with your doctor if your BP medication should be taken/avoided before the health check-up.If you are on diabetes medication, kindly bring your morning dose to the hospital and you may consume it after your blood has been collected (You should notify your service coordinator upon arrival for the health check-up regarding this).
