A paediatric cardiologist is specialised in the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases and disorders in children.

Our Department of Paediatric Cardiac Sciences is best equipped to protect and ensure your child’s heart health through our state-of-the-art equipment and operating suites, as well by our internationally trained renowned doctors. Our nurses and support staff are provided specialised training for the care of your child. We treat entire spectrum of congenital heart diseases and heart illnesses in children at our department, including congenital heart diseases, arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms), and pulmonary conditions that also involve the lungs. The team has well established and renowned doctors, surgeons, cardiologists, intensivists, and anesthesiologists for delivering exceptional outcomes in the perioperative period for all neonatal heart reconstructions to surgery for grown-up congenital heart diseases.

The Department of Paediatric Cardiac Sciences at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital is equipped with advanced technologies, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and exceptional manpower so that our expert teams of specialists can provide your child with best-in-class care. A case in point is that we also possess hybrid labs that offer a variety of multispecialty tests so that we can deliver a comprehensive diagnosis, all surgical interventions and cardiac interventions incorporating all aspects of your child’s health and welfare.

Our customised operating suites have advanced equipment. Moreover, we use LED lights in our operating suites to provide maximum illumination without giving off heat during surgical procedures.

A paediatric critical care system with beds earmarked and exclusive to the Department of Paediatric Cardiac Sciences  rounds out our infrastructure, so that we can closely monitor your child’s progress after a surgery or during a critical illness.

  • Management of transposition of great arteries
  • Management of complete atrioventricular septal defect
  • Management of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection with severe pulmonary venous obstructions
  • Total correction of Tetralogy of Fallot (popularly known as TOF; the common cause of blue babies) before 2 years of age)
  • Cosmetic approaches called Posterior Thoracotomy (from the right side of the back) and Mini-Sternotomy approaches for closure of septal defects making the scar invisible
  • Valve reconstructions and repairs in children with defects like congenital mitral valve regurgitation and Ebstein’s anomaly
  • Our centre is a well-known centre for Percutaneous Pulmonary Valve replacement, a technique in which the valve is placed between the lungs and heart without surgery. Our doctors are also proctors for this program in this part of the world
