Urologic Oncology

Every year, tens of thousands of patients in India are diagnosed with kidney, prostate, bladder, testes, and penis cancers. Urologic oncology is a subspecialty which deals with patients suffering from these cancers. This department is well-equipped to handle any type of urologic malignancy. Multi-speciality healthcare consultations in each individual case, involving urologists, medical oncologists, and radiation specialists are provided.

The urologic oncology department is complemented by Medical oncology, Precision Oncology and Radiotherapy units. Complex urological cancer cases are discussed in multidisciplinary meetings.

The department boasts the first of its kind MRI Fusion Prostate Biopsy equipment installed in the State of Maharashtra. It is also equipped with the state of the art DaVinci Xi Surgical Robot.

Prostate Cancer Clinic

The Prostate Cancer Clinic at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre is the first-of-its-kind specialty clinic in Mumbai dedicated to diagnosing and managing prostate-related diseases, predominantly prostate cancer. It is located at level 3 of Tower, and is open on Thursdays from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men, and if diagnosed early, it is completely curable. Hence, early diagnosis is immensely important. More than 50% of men get affected by prostate-related conditions after the age of 60. Therefore, an annual prostate gland health evaluation is necessary for men who are 50 years and older.

Comprehensive examination
At the prostate cancer clinic, a specialist urologist provides detailed consultation and examination. Blood and urine tests and imaging studies are performed for a more comprehensive diagnosis. If prostate cancer is suspected, prostate tissue (biopsy) is collected for further analysis.
