He has been in Head of Department in various institutions, including the Nair Dental College, Mumbai; Head of department and Dean of Dr. D. Y. Patil Dental College and Hospital, Navi Mumbai and Professor Emeritus, MGM Dental College and Hospital, Navi Mumbai. He is also a Consultant at several prominent hospitals in Mumbai.
Dr. Khanna has received numerous accolades, including a prestigious award from the President of India in July 2011. His expertise has earned him roles such as Specialty Advisor to the Union Public Service Commission, Government of India, Specialty Advisor to Public Service Commission, Government of Maharashtra, Advisor to ISI, Government of India for Instruments, Consultant and advisor to the Armed forces, Government of India and recipient of Famdent DRONACHARYA award in 2017.
