Dr. Ritika Sharma has over 8 years of experience in Critical Care Medicine, following her MD from the prestigious TNMC BYL and Nair Hospital, Mumbai. She has extensive expertise in managing critically ill patients including trauma, cardiac, cardiac surgical, neurosurgical cases and ECMO support. After completing her Fellowship of National Board (FNB) in Critical Care Medicine at PD Hinduja National Hospital, Mumbai, she earned the European Diploma in Intensive Care.
Dr. Sharma has a special interest in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS), Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS), antibiotic stewardship, research, and academics. This embodies the multifaceted role of a critical care specialist committed to advancing patient care and medical knowledge. Her proficiency in POCUS enables her to perform precise bedside imaging diagnostics and interventions, significantly improving outcomes in acute care settings. With expertise in ECLS, she ensures advanced life support for critically ill patients.
Her commitment to antibiotic stewardship underscores her focus on promoting responsible antimicrobial use, minimising resistance and ensuring optimal care for critically ill patients. Passionate about research, she contributes to the global medical community through evidence-based insights and innovative approaches to critical care challenges. She has authored chapters in critical care medicine textbooks and published articles in anaesthesiology journals.
