About Us:

After completing M.B.B.S. in 1983, Dr. Mulay received his M.S. (General Surgery) in 1986 and M.Ch. (Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery) in 1989 from the University of Mumbai. He has received specialised training in cardio-thoracic surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in London (1992–96) and was also an International Fellow in Cardiac Surgery at the St. Vincent’s Hospital, USA (1997–98). He has worked as a consultant at Leeds General Infirmary, UK.

Dr. Mulay started the rural cardiac surgery program in Maharashtra in 2004 and was a key part of Open Heart Surgery programs conducted in the interiors of Maharashtra during 2004-05. In 2010, he started the comprehensive minimally invasive cardiac surgery program in Maharashtra and established western India’s first comprehensive heart failure clinic in 2015. He performed western India’s first successful heart transplant and left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. Dr. Mulay and his team have performed 160+ heart transplants, the highest in western India.

He is a member of the Indian Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons, Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland and American Medical Association. Dr. Mulay is an avid researcher and has conducted several clinical research projects. He has authored several research papers and conference publications.
