Dr Arjun Ahuja is a consultant with the ophthalmology department at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr Ahuja completed his MBBS degree in 1979 at TN Medical College & Nair Hospital, Mumbai with a distinction in Medicine. He went on to pursue a DOMS course followed by an MS (Ophthalmology) course and received a gold medal from TN Medical College & Nair Hospital in 1984. In 2012, he completed his MCh degree at the University of Seychelles, securing the first rank.
During a career spanning over three decades, Dr Ahuja has held various positions at renowned hospitals in Mumbai, including KEM and Sion. Presently, he serves as the Professor Emeritus in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital. In his academic journey, he has trained 200 postgraduates and 5000 undergraduates and has served as an examiner for both UG and PG exams. He is also an inspector for the Medical Council of India and a subject matter expert in ophthalmology on the FDA panel.
Dr Ahuja was an office bearer of the Bombay Ophthalmologist Association from 2005 to 2010. He holds life memberships in several esteemed organisations—the All India Ophthalmic Society, the Maharashtra Ophthalmic Society, the All India Oculoplasty Society, the Ophthalmic Views & News, and the IMA. Notably, he received the ‘Lachman Kriplani Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award’ for his contribution to the field of ophthalmology.
