About Us:

An alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune University, Dr. Rajgopal graduated in 1974. He completed his MS (1979) from All India Institute of Medical Science followed by M.Ch. from University of Liverpool, UK (1983). He underwent advanced training as Fellow of International Medical Sciences Academy, India (1996) and is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK (2011).

Dr. Rajgopal has held various positions at many prestigious institutes such as A.I.I.M.S.-New Delhi; South Port Infirmary, UK and Ormskirk General Hospital, UK. He is the Innovator of Persona Knee–a total knee replacement system. He received the Fourth Highest Civilian Honour—the Padma Shri Award in 2014 for outstanding meritorious excellence in Orthopaedic Surgery, and also B.C. Roy Award (2014) from the then President of India as a recognition for the best talent in encouraging the development of specialities in different branches in medicine. He has also been the recipient of the Knee Ratna (2002), Bharat Shiromani (2009) and Vishistha Chikitsa Ratna Award (2012). He was inducted in the ‘Hall Of Fame’ A.F.M.C. for his outstanding contribution in the field of Orthopaedics. He has 40,000+ Total Knee and Hip Replacement Surgeries to his credit.

Dr. Rajgopal is a life member of General Medical council (UK), European Knee Association, American Association of Hip Knee and is a reviewer for Journal of Arthroplasty, Knee surgery and The Bone and Joint Journal and has authored several publications.
