After the completion of his MBBS degree, Dr Ursekar pursued DOMS and MS (Ophthalmology) at Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai. Subsequently, he completed FCPS and DNB. He then pursued a vitreoretinal fellowship at Sankara Nethralaya Medical Research Foundation, Chennai and obtained a fellowship in retinal service at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital, New York, USA.
Dr Ursekar has a rich 26-year experience in the field of ophthalmology. In addition to his association with our hospital, he is a consultant at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre and Masina Hospital in Mumbai. Previously, he held consultancy positions at Wockhardt Hospitals, Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Asian Heart Institute, and Smt. Motiben B. Dalvi Hospital in Mumbai.
Dr Ursekar has actively taken part in various national and international research studies. He has published many peer-reviewed papers in esteemed national journals and delivered lectures on various topics in ophthalmology at national conferences. He is also registered as an eligible teacher for ophthalmology residents preparing for the Diplomate of National Board Examination at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre, Mumbai. He is a professional member of the Indian Medical Association, the All India Ophthalmological Society, the Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society, the Bombay Ophthalmologists Association, the Vitreo Retina Society of India, the Indian Intraocular Implant and Refractive Society, the Association of Medical Consultants, and the Delhi Ophthalmological Society.
