Dr. Balkrishna Padate is a renowned haematologist with extensive experience in Clinical Haematology, Haemato-Oncology, and BMT. Over the past two decades, he has held key leadership roles in prominent hospitals in India and the United Kingdom, where he has combined his clinical expertise with a compassionate approach to patient care.
He completed his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) at The Royal College of Pathologist in Haematology in London, UK, in 2011. He earned his FRCPath (Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists) in 2009. In 2024, he was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians at Glasgow. He also holds an MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians, London (2006), an MD in Internal Medicine from Mumbai University (2003), and an MBBS from GSMC and KEM Hospital, Mumbai (1998).
Dr. Padate has served as the Director and Head Consultant in Clinical Haematology, Haemato-Oncology, BMT and Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CarT) therapy at Nanavati Max Super Specialty Hospital from October 2021 to January 2025. Previously, he held similar leadership roles at P D Hinduja Hospital and MRC Mumbai from 2012 to 2021.
Dr. Padate worked as a Consultant Haematologist at Maidstone Hospital in England in 2012, and as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of London from 2011 to 2016. His tenure in the UK included roles at The Royal Free Hospital, University College Hospital London, and St. Mary’s Hospital at Imperial College London, where he served as a Senior Registrar in both adult and paediatric haematology, haemato-oncology, and BMT.
Dr. Padate has been recognized for his contributions to medicine, including securing first rank in Medicine (MD) from Mumbai University in 2003 and receiving second prize in the Prof. Jaykar Memorial Medicine Examination. His dedication to excellence has also earned him a place on the prestigious India Today list of Best Doctors in Mumbai for six consecutive years, from 2018 to 2024.
