Dr. Bijal Dodia completed her BPT from Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, Navi Mumbai, and her Master in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Physiotherapy from Seth G. S. Medical College and K. E. M. Hospital, Mumbai. A certified Child Birth Educator from the Academy of Child Birth Educators, USA. She is also trained in Neurodynamics solutions by Michael Shacklock and Kiran Challagundla.
After gaining clinical experience in critical care at Nanavati Hospital, Dr. Dodia worked at Saifee Hospital as a Senior Physiotherapist and ICU in-charge for 4 years. During this period, she also served as a resource person for the Certificate Course in Critical Care Nursing affiliated with S. N. D. T. University, Mumbai.
With a special interest in early mobility and rehabilitation for critically ill patients, organ transplant rehabilitation, and rehabilitation with awake ECMO, she has played a pivotal role in mentoring and guiding numerous physiotherapists, both at H N Hospital and across various institutes nationwide.
Dr. Bijal is a certified Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist specializing in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions, including urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, chronic pelvic pain syndrome, neurogenic bladder, anorectal sphincter dyssynergia, and the rehabilitation of neo-sphincters.
She is a member of the Indian Association of Physiotherapists and the Maharashtra State OT PT Council. She is the Founding Executive Member of the Society of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Rehabilitation. Dr. Dodia has published papers on Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Critical Care Physiotherapy in International journals. She has also presented various studies in Journal Club Meetings at Saifee Hospital.
