Dr. Bhamre graduated from University of Pune and received his MS (General Surgery) and MCh (Cardiothoracic Surgery) from India and his MD (Z) from the USA. He has received extensive training in cardiovascular surgery from the Texas Heart Institute, Houston, Texas, USA, under Dr. Denton Cooley. He also holds a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery from Stuttgart, Germany, and a Fellowship from UCSD, California, USA.
Using a minimally invasive approach, Dr. Bhamre can perform cardiac operations through small incisions, resulting in a rapid recovery process and short hospital stay. He is experienced in treating complex aortic aneurysms with hybrid procedures through small incisions.
Dr. Bhamre is a recipient of the Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Michael Ungethüm’s Ungethum-Asculap Stiftung Scholarship (Tutilengen, Germany) and the 2009 Acharya Shushrut Sadbhavna Award for Medical Services. He is also the University of Pune’s gold medallist and 1st rank holder in Surgery for 2005. Dr. Bhamre has also won a Best Anastomosis on Beating Heart Bypass Model award (EBM Corporation at Houston, Texas, USA). He has also received a mention in the Texas Medical Centre News on Annual Summit for Minimally Invasive Cardiac Techniques in 2013.
