About Us:

Dr. Mehta graduated from University of Mumbai. Thereafter, he received his MS (General Surgery) from Sardar Patel University (Gujarat) and DNB (Surgical Oncology). Dr. Mehta holds fellowships in thoracic and onco-thoracic surgery from Tata Memorial Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute and Epworth Richmond Hospital. He has received extensive training in surgical oncology and general thoracic surgery and thoracic surgical oncology (both open and minimally invasive surgery) and also in robotic thoracic surgery (ORSI-Belgium).

Dr. Mehta has been/is a part of several completed and on-going research projects: ‘Role of lesser resections in Early stage Lung cancer who are medically unfit’; ‘Negative Predictive value of EBUS in Mediastinal staging’ (Royal Melbourne Hospital); ‘Mediastinoscopy vs PET CT scan concordance in identifying N2 nodes in NSCLC: A study of 100 cases’ (Co Principal Investigator – TMH); ‘Role of Whole body DW MRI in management of NSCLC’ (TMH); and ‘Evaluation of clinical and histopathological response to a neoadjuvant regimen of paclitaxel and platinum in squamous cell carcinoma of the oesophagus’ (Co Investigator – TMH). He has also participated in the following randomised trials: ‘Three field radical vs two field oesophagectomy – a prospective RCT’ and ‘Posterolateral thoracotomy versus Nerve Sparing Thoracotomy (PotNest)’.

Dr. Mehta has participated in various national and international workshops and presented his work at several multi-disciplinary meetings. He has also authored several journal publications.
