Dr. Prabodh Karnik is an ENT and Head & Neck Surgeon at the ENT Department of Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. He has had a stellar career with several academic laurels. Dr. Karnik has undergone trainings in the U.S.A. and Germany for Endoscopic Sinus Surgery and Ear Surgery. In 1996, he was honoured as a Xomed scholar at a workshop in Savannah, Georgia.
In 1987, Dr. Karnik pioneered Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) in India. His first workshop on FESS in 1989 (Hyderabad) was attended by 200 delegates. Being a pioneer of nasal and sinus endoscopy and ear surgery in India, he has conducted several workshops and courses and delivered lectures both nationally and internationally. He has also been invited to several institutions across the country to perform, demonstrate, and teach reconstructive ear surgery.
He is a consultant at several prestigious hospitals in Mumbai. Additionally, he is a consultant to several reputable public sector undertakings (Atomic Energy, Western Railway, Mumbai Port Trust, Air India). He was an Honorary Treasurer and Honorary Secretary of the Association of Otolaryngologists of India and President of the Indian Society of Otology.
Besides being an undergraduate and postgraduate examiner (otolaryngology) at several national universities, Dr. Karnik is a recognised teacher for the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi and the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mumbai. He has also published several research papers.
