Dr. Prashant Kadam is a distinguished Liver Transplant and Hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) Surgeon with 15 years of experience in managing complex liver, pancreatic, and biliary conditions. Trained both in India and the U.K., Dr. Kadam specialises in treating liver, gallbladder, and pancreatic conditions.
He completed his medical education at K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai, followed by advanced surgical training at Sion Hospital, Mumbai, where he also worked as an Assistant Professor. Further refining his skills, he completed an MUHS Fellowship in HPB surgery at Fortis Hospital, Mumbai. His pursuit of excellence led him to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, UK, where he trained for five years, earning M.R.C.S. and F.R.C.S. (Upper GI & HPB Surgery) qualifications from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. His academic pursuits culminated in a Master’s degree in Surgical Oncology, Liverpool, U.K., with a research focus on pancreatic cancer. In 2023, he became the Fellow of the European Board of Surgery (F.E.B.S.) in Transplant Surgery.
Following his F.E.B.S. qualification, Dr. Kadam served as a Consultant in the Liver Transplant and HPB Surgery Department of Fortis Hospital, Mumbai for two years, where he further refined his expertise and helped establish new standards in transplant care. His expertise spans complex procedures such as paediatric and robotic liver transplants and cutting-edge organ preservation techniques like Donation after Circulatory Death (DCD) and machine perfusion.
Dr. Kadam's dedication to advancing medical science has led to contributions in clinical trials, particularly in liver transplantation and surgical oncology, with significant publications in prestigious international journals. He actively participates in national and international conferences as a speaker, panelist, and moderator, and is deeply committed to surgical education, regularly conducting workshops and academic sessions for budding surgeons.
