Dr. Rajendra S Sankpal is a Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr. Sankpal holds extensive qualifications including an MD, DGO, DFP, and MB (Advanced Laparoscopy). He has undergone advanced training in gynaecological endoscopy at Yale Laparoscopy Department, New York, USA and North-western University Medical College, Chicago, USA. He was awarded the ‘Top Gun Prize’ at Yale University for his skills in laparoscopic suturing and received the FIGO postdoctoral fellowship in 3D ultrasound technology. He has worked at some of the most prestigious hospitals including Holy Spirit and Breach Candy.
He is an examiner for the postdoctoral fellowship in gynaecological endoscopy and was the president of the Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopy, Joint Secretary of the Association of Maharashtra Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society (2015-2017), and Joint Clinical Secretary at MOGS. He has also been an Executive Managing Committee Member since 2003. He received the Vikas Ratna-Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award in 2014 and Glory of India Award in 2017.
Dr. Sankpal has been a guest speaker and faculty member at several national and international workshops and conferences. He is a peer reviewer for the International Journal of Gynaecology and Obstetrics and was an international associate editor for an Indo-American Book on Multiple Pregnancies by FOGSI publications (2002). He has authored many articles and book chapters on gynaecological endoscopy, ultrasound, and family planning.
