Distinguished career spanning more than 30 years in Pulmonary Medicine
Dr. Rajesh Sharma is a Mentor in the Pulmonary Medicine Department at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. He is a specialist in Pulmonary Medicine and Intensive Care with a wealth of knowledge and experience, having been in practice for over 30 years.
After graduating from Seth G.S. Medical College, Mumbai University, in 1986, Dr. Sharma earned his specialisation in Pulmonary Medicine from K.E.M. Hospital in 1990. He secured a gold medal in his MD and obtained additional qualifications with the Diplomat of National Board.
He continued to work in public hospitals as a lecturer at K.E.M. Hospital and B.Y.L. Nair Hospital following his specialisation. He has been a part of Sir Hurkishandas Narottamdas Hospital as a Consultant in Pulmonary Medicine and Intensive Care since 1993 and Saifee Hospital since 2005.
Dr. Sharma is a founder member and past secretary of the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine. He has been actively involved in teaching, supervising, and scrutinising doctors and trainees in his specialty.
He has expertise in performing bronchoscopies and has a keen interest in Interventional Pulmonology. With a special interest in multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB) and sleep medicine, Dr. Sharma is an expert in managing other respiratory diseases, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and interstitial lung diseases. He is passionate about the respiratory health of his patients and believes that there is nothing more fulfilling than helping patients to breathe more easily.
