Dr. Smita Nagaonkar is a Section Coordinator & Lead-Voice & Swallow Disorders at the ENT Department of Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
After her Masters, Dr. Nagaonkar worked at Hinduja National Hospital and Medical Research Centre for 4 years in various capacities (Clinical Assistant, Associate, Associate Consultant). She then worked as a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Mayo Private and Manning Base Hospitals, NSW Australia (2008 onwards), where she established the ENT setup.
Driven by technological advancements in the medical field, Dr. Nagaonkar has been instrumental in establishing the most advanced, one-of-a-kind comprehensive ENT Department at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, which meets international standards. Having trained in Australia, Dr. Nagaonkar brought unparalleled expertise to India and established the Voice & Swallow Clinic. Her contributions include the establishment of the first Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) services in India in early 2015. This groundbreaking service has been helping patients for over 10 years.
Dr. Nagaonkar has successfully completed Quality Control, Six Sigma, and Medicolegal diplomas and has been actively involved in conducting FESS workshops at national and international levels. She has published and presented numerous scientific studies at national and international levels. She has strong academic commitment and has been instrumental in starting the ENT D.N.B. programme and being a teacher for the national board of examination.
