Dr. Swati Daftary is the Chief Anaesthesiologist and Clinical Coordinator in the Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr. Daftary completed her M.B.B.S. from Seth G.S.M.C. & K.E.M. Hospital, University of Bombay in 1981; this was followed by successful completion of D.A. in 1984 and M.D. in 1985.
Dr. Daftary worked at M.C.G.M. hospitals, i.e., K.E.M. Hospital and Sion Hospital for 21 years. As a recipient of the Hargobind Foundation Merit Scholarship (1998), Dr. Daftary visited the Department of Anaesthesia (Division of Paediatric Anaesthesia) at Stanford University School of Medicine, California, USA as a Visiting Associate Professor (‘Perioperative Care of Paediatric Patients in Anaesthesia’).
Dr. Daftary is a Founder Member of Indian Association of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists (I.A.P.A.; formed in 2006). She has been a recognised Postgraduate Teacher for D.A. and M.D. (University of Bombay) and D.N.B. (Anaesthesia) at M.U.H.S. (Nasik) since June 1993.
Dr. Daftary delivered a “P Surendran oration,” - ‘What is new in anaesthesia’ at the South Zone Indian Society of Anesthesiologists (I.S.A.) Conference 2010. She has authored many journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers. As a subject expert, Dr. Daftary has served as a speaker and panellist at numerous conferences.
