Dr. Vijay W. Dhakre is a Consultant at the Liver Transplant and HPB Surgery Department, Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital. He completed his M.S. (General Surgery) from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital, Sion, Mumbai.
He has earlier worked as a Consultant HPB & Liver transplantation Surgeon at Fortis Hospital and S.L. Raheja Hospital, Mumbai. He has also worked as an Associate Consultant at the Department of HPB Surgery & Liver Transplantation at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai.
Dr. Dhakre has published many articles in international peer-reviewed journals; he has also authored papers on very rare diseases and patient management following HPB surgery and liver transplantation. Dr. Dhakre has presented his research at many national and international conferences. He serves as a peer-reviewer for many international journals. Dr. Dhakre has co-authored and published a MUHS curriculum-based textbook for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Dr. Dhakre has also co-authored a chapter on liver tumours in a textbook, Surgical Gastroenterology-super-speciality.
