Dr. Swati Jha has completed her MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), Delhi, DCH from Kasturba Hospital, Delhi, and MPH from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Dr. Jha has received the Advanced Management Programme in HealthCare (AMPH) certification from the Indian School of Business (ISB).
As a paediatrician, Dr. Swati Jha has over 22 years of experience in private practice and 19 years of experience in the development sector, working in primary health care including maternal and child health. Dr. Jha has been extensively involved in projects aimed at addressing issues in the urban slums of Mumbai; she has managed projects that involved leveraging the latest technological advances to make public health services more effective and affordable. She has led first-responder medical teams to various disaster sites in India and Nepal. During the 2021 COVID epidemic, Dr. Jha was involved in one of the largest urban COVID-19 vaccination programs in the underserved areas of Mumbai; in this collaborative project between Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), Dr. Jha led the Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital team, and was involved in organising and managing the vaccination programs, carrying out close to 5 lakh vaccinations. Dr. Jha has co-published three articles in the fields of public health, chronic diseases, and nutrition.
Dr. Jha is a life member of Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP), Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPC), and Indian Public Health Association (IPHA). Her interest lies in the use of appropriate technologies for making healthcare more effective and accessible.Dr. Swati Jha is the Programme Director of the Health Outreach programme of Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, undertaking the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of field operations and optimising the reach and quality of primary preventive health care services.
