About Us:

Dr. Nihar Mehta is a Consultant Cardiologist at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital. He is affiliated with numerous healthcare institutions, including Breach Candy Hospital and K.J. Somaiya Super-specialty Hospital (as a Consultant Cardiologist). He currently serves as Associate Director, Structural Heart Valve Department, Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre.

Dr. Mehta is involved in various randomised clinical research trials across India, the U.S.A., and South Korea.

Dr. Mehta remains deeply committed to teaching, regularly conducting monthly Cardiology Clinics designed to educate both students and practitioners. He has also conceptualised—and leads—the TAVI SKILL LAB, a unique quarterly workshop where he trains aspiring cardiologists in TAVI procedures using cadaveric heart models, a programme unmatched anywhere else in the world.

Dr. Mehta also has an extensive academic portfolio, with numerous publications. He has contributed significantly to medical literature as the Assistant Editor of the API Textbook of Medicine (11th and 12th editions) and as an author on key medical textbooks such as “P.J. Mehta Practical Medicine,” “Understanding ECG,” “Medical Emergencies,” “Clinical Endocrinology,” and “Common Medical Symptoms.” His contributions to cardiology, both as a clinician and thought leader, continue to influence the field and set high standards for healthcare in India.

Achievements:

Throughout his career, Dr. Mehta’s contributions have been recognised with numerous awards, including:

  • ‘Dr. Coelho Memorial Lectureship in Experimental Medicine’ at APICON 2016
  • ‘Amar Gandhi Award for Outstanding Resident’ at Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre (February 2013)
  • Rai Bahadur Gold Medal for securing the first rank in the final M.B.B.S. examination (2003), conducted by M.U.H.S., Nashik
