Gynaecologic Oncology sub-specialty offers expert, compassionate care for women with gynaecological cancers. The focus is on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancers of cervix, ovary, uterus (endometrium), vagina, and vulva. The team provides medical expertise along with emotional and psychological support. Guidance is provided at every step, addressing all questions and ensuring confidence in the care plan.

  • Preventive oncology
    • Colposcopy, LEEP, cryo cauterization, conisation, PAP smear and HPV testing for early diagnosis and treatment of premalignant conditions of cervix, vulva and vagina
    • Clinical examination, transvaginal ultrasound and Ca-125 for early diagnosis of ovarian cancer (high-risk groups)
    • Systematic follow-up with transvaginal sonography in high-risk groups for endometrial cancer
    • Lectures and counselling for cancer prevention and early detection
    • Camps, lectures and counselling for cancer awareness
    • Genetic counselling and testing
  • Fertility-preserving surgery – radical trachelectomy, ovary-preserving cystectomy, ovarian transposition for eligible patients
  • Hyperthermic Intra-peritoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) and post-operative intra-peritoneal (IP) chemotherapy through port for ovarian cancer
  • Extensive debulking staging laparotomy and peritonectomy for ovarian cancer
  • Nerve-sparing radical hysterectomy (robotic/open) for cervical and endometrial cancer
  • Systematic radical surgery for endometrial cancer
  • Intra-operative frozen section for accurate diagnosis and decision-making during surgery
  • Suspected Ovarian cancer – diagnostic laparoscopy (key-hole) followed by frozen section and SOS completion surgery (laparoscopic/open)
  • Cervical cancer counselling and vaccination
  • Radical vulvectomy, inguinal lymph node dissection with reconstruction for vulvar cancer
  • Radical vaginectomy
  • Completion surgery/ adjuvant treatment for incomplete treatment done elsewhere
  • Palliative surgery for advance-stage/terminal cancer
  • Anterior/ Posterior/ Total Exenteration surgery for extensive cancer of cervix, ovary or vagina
  • Psychosexual counselling, guidance and rehabilitation
